Sui is a Layer-1 built by ex-Meta engineers using the Move programming language. Its object-centric data model lets independent transactions execute in parallel, enabling very high throughput and low latency — well suited to consumer apps, gaming and high-volume trading.
Sui's Mysticeti consensus pushes finality to near-instant levels, and its design avoids the global-state bottlenecks of account-based chains. The Move language emphasizes safety around digital assets, reducing common smart-contract vulnerabilities.
SUI is the gas and staking token. Since its 2023 launch, Sui has grown a fast-expanding DeFi and stablecoin ecosystem and is one of the more prominent non-EVM "alt-L1" platforms competing on performance and developer experience.
